"I'tchik Herbs is a woman owned Native American company which markets herbal teas. The origin of woman's involvement in working with herbs stems from ancient Native History: The earth is considered female, and therefore in Native philosophy, a woman possesses the 'power of the earth' and is generally selected to pick the herbs. When ceremonies are conducted, it is the woman who is responsible for picking of the medicinal herbs.
