27 Years Later, Why Is Annie Mae Aquash's Murder Still Unsolved?, to air Friday, June 6 on Aboriginal Peoples Television Network at 8:00 p.m. eastern / 5:00 p.m. pacific. The original air date was May 2, 2003.

In February 1976, the face-down, frozen body of American Indian Movement activist Annie Mae Pictou-Aquash was found on a South Dakota rancher's field: she had been shot in the head, execution style.

Over the next 27 years, theories abounded as to who killed this 30-year old Mi'kmaq woman from Nova Scotia, and why. Some blame the FBI, others say it was AIM leaders who gave the order. Now, two suspects have been named in her death. One is in custody; the other is thought to be somewhere in Canada. But why has the path to justice for Annie Mae Aquash been so long? Why have people who might know who killed her stayed silent?

Tune in on Friday, host Rick Harp is joined in studio by Indian Country Today journalist Paul DeMain, who has dedicated 20 years of his career to Annie Mae's story.
