Greetings. We invite all human beings to join us for the 4th annual Oglala Commemoration Event scheduled for June 26, 2003 in Oglala, South Dakota. The entire event begins with a spiritual pipe ceremony at the gravesites of Anna Mae Aquash, Joe Stuntz, and Jun Little. Then, Starting at the gravesite is a memorial walk to the Jumping Bull residence south of Oglala SD. When walkers reach Jumping Bulls, there will be opportunities for Press/Media discussions. Words from the Participants of the 1975 Incident at Oglala will be present and will give testimony of that fateful day. The event will continue with a public dinner at a location to be announced (tba).
The event concludes with a concert to bring attention to the continued injustices toward the Lakota people, those who died political deaths in the 1970s resulting from a "Reign of Terror", and the continued false imprisonment of AIM member Leonard Peltier. We encourage Healing and support among the families of the Reign of Terror victims including the American Indian Movement and the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
