An Interview with Tex Hall, President of NCAI

You are invited to listen to an hour-long inteview with Tex Hall (Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara), the current President of the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI).

The live interview will be broadcast from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (eastern standard time), following Native America Calling, on Friday, September 6, 2002.

This will be an opportunity for you to hear what the President of NCAI, one of the largest and most influential tribal organizations in the US, has to say about some of the hottest topics in Indian Country.

The next in our series of LIVE events will be from the United Tribes International Pow-Wow, held at the United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) in Bismarck, North Dakota. The live broadcast on Saturday, September 7, 2002 from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.eastern time.

This broadcast is being produced by KLND, community radio serving the Standing Rock and Cheyenne River Nations. Virgil Taken Alive, KLND's morning man, will host the pow-wow, and Deanne Bear Catches, the friendliest announcer in native radio ("Sugarbear"), will provide special coverage of the Miss Indian Nations pageant.

Grand Entry time is 8:00 p.m. eastern time or 7:00 p.m. local/central time. For more information on the pow-wow go to the United Tribes Pow Wow web site.
