Fort Apache Reservation Campgrounds Re-Open

Whiteriver, Arizona - Designated campgrounds on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation are opened to the public effective July 12, 2002. Fire restrictions remain in effect for the entire reservation. Open campfires and charcoal fires are prohibited, however propane cook stoves and lanterns may be used in the designated campgrounds. Primitive campgrounds on the western portion of the reservation remain closed until further notice. Smoking restrictions remain in effect for the entire reservation, which permits smoking only in closed vehicles or buildings.
