Minneapolis, Minnesota - Thursday, April 11, 2002, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Minneapolis American Indian Center 1530 East Franklin Avenue, Minneapolis.

(The American Indian Council for Education formed last fall in response to the 87% drop out rate for American Indian students attending Minneapolis Public Schools.)

Educational fair, presentation of Eagle staff and ceremony, feast, panel discussions with audience participation,, and door prizes. The purpose of the feast is to address the critical issues facing American Indian young people of today in the public school systems. The feast will include a forum of speakers from various settings. This will allow the community to network and talk about the concerns of Native people and learn more about opportunities and programs found within the community. They are also inviting all Indian educational programs to participate and display services and take an opportunity to recruit young people.
