The Descendants of the Warriors of the Crazy Horse Band are now starting to plan again for next year's ride to honor Crazy Horse and the Warriors of his Band, and to have September 6th, the anniversary of his death, proclaimed a National Holiday. We are asking everyone to contact their senators.

We really want to make this a reality in 2002, on the 125th Anniversary of the death of Crazy Horse. Anyone and everyone are welcome to attend the ride and or come to Fort Robinson, Nebraska for the ceremony in September 2002!

Ride September 4 through September 6, 2002.
Honoring Crazy Horse (Tashunkewitko)
And The Warriors of his Band
125th Anniversary of his death, September 6.

In addition to our efforts to proclaim September 6th a National Holiday, this year the ride to honor Crazy Horse and the Warriors of his band will be a two day ride beginning September 4th at the Crazy Horse Memorial located on the Beaver Creek property north of Hay Springs, Nebraska. Crazy Horse and his warriors never signed any treaties.

The descendants of the warriors of the Crazy Horse band have now ridden two years straight from Chadron, NE to Fort Robinson and have held ceremonies at Fort Robinson, NE on September 6. Last year, SD Senator Tim Johnson did introduce legislation to declare September 6 a national holiday, but not enough senators co-signed to make it a reality. Senator Johnson's office has agreed to re-introduce the legislation early in 2002 and we need to make it a reality this year, the 125th Anniversary of his death.

Ride Agenda:

September 3, 2002 (Tuesday) meet and camp at the Crazy Horse Memorial on the Kadlecek ranch along Beaver Creek, north of Hay Springs, NE

September 4, 2002 (Wednesday) ride from Beaver Creek to Chadron, NE, camp at north corrals at the fairground

September 5, 2002 (Thursday) ride from Chadron, NE to Fort Robinson, NE, camp in the area of the guardhouse where Crazy Horse was killed

September 6, 2002 (Friday) - Ceremony in front of the guardhouse at Fort Robinson - 11:30 am, followed by lunch

Sponsored by the Descendants of the Warriors of the Crazy Horse Band.
