The Department of American Indian Studies offers two native languages, the Dakota and the Ojibwe language. Both language programs have student groups: The Ojibwe Language Society and the Dakota Language Society are active and provide language tables in the community for participation.Each language program is a two year sequential learning process that involves conversational skill building as well as opportunities to attend language immersion retreats. All classes are held on the East Bank campus.
