WINNIPRG, MANITOBA, CANADA - From Winnipeg, Manitoba Metis Federation President David Chartrand expressed his sorrow at the unbelievable catastrophes that took place in the United States on Wednesday, September 11, 2001.

"On behalf of all Metis people in Manitoba, I offer our sympathies and prayers to the victims and all their families involved in the disaster. Our world today is very small and an event of this magnitude will impact every single person on our planet. Every life lost today will be remembered for all time."

"The federation also calls on all Metis people in Canada to think about what they could do to assist "those who are suffering because of these desperate attacks. We want to do what we can, including the giving of blood, to assist those in need", Chartrand said.
