Traditional caretakers of the Pipestone Quarries are hosting a meeting on the Pipestone Quarries of Pipestone, MN. An invitation to all tribes who utilize the canupa in their ceremonies or prayers are encouraged to attend.The National Park Service is in the process of developing their General Management Plan for the Pipestone Quarries for the next 25 years and we as Indian people need to decide together what we want done. There are a number of issues that need to be discussed.
The meeting is located 10 miles west of Wagner, South Dakota on the Highway 46 at Fort Randall Casino/hotel, you will be given a special rate at the Hotel if you attend for the meeting. Please plan to attend.
