2001 Ojibwe Language Calendars are available. If you are interested in learning the language or simply enjoying the beautiful, historical black and white photos, order your calendars today. Each month has an explanation of the Ojibwe name for the month (or moon), and each day has a learning phrase. English translations and pronunciation guides are provided.All proceeds benefit the Ojibwe Lanaguage Society, a non-profit organization working to preserve and promote Ojibwe in the Midwest and Canada. The Ojibwe Language Society meets weekly for conversation and holds immersion language camps several times a year at Nigakoosiminikaning First Nation, Ontario. Calendars cost $10 each plus $3.50 for shipping and handling for each group of 3 calendars ordered. To avoid shipping and handling, you can pick up a calendar directly from myself, The American Indian Studies Department at the University of Minnesota or Charlie Stately's store located in the Minneapolis American Indian Center on Franklin Avenue.
