Aurora Illinois - "Reflections of the Natural World", an exhibit of Native American clothing, carvings and other artifacts, opens Tuesday at the Schingoethe Center for Native American Cultures on the campus of Aurora University in Aurora. The display features items from the Arctic, the Great Lakes region and woodland areas of the American Northeast, including artifacts lent or donated by Aurora University alumni.Handicrafts include beaded shoulder bags, baskets, pottery and a bird skin parka made by an Inuit woman. The items will remain on exhibit for the next two years.
Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. There is no admission charge.
A reception to celebrate the opening of the exhibit is scheduled for March 3. For more information call 630-844-5402.
