The 1st Inter-agency Conference On Comprehensive Planning in Indian County, "Building Stronger Tribal Communities Through Planning" is scheduled for November 28-30, 2000 in Palm Springs, CA There is no registration fee for this conference.The conference is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Native American Programs, U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Service and Administration for Native Americans, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Building Stronger Tribal Communities Through Planning is an inter-agency event scheduled for November 28-30, 2000. This 3-day conference is a unique collaboration among several government agencies charged with addressing Native American issues, and is an opportunity to learn and share ideas about comprehensive planning and how it can impact tribes. The conference will cover topics of importance to tribes such as infrastructure, housing, and economic and community development, among other critical issues. A series of technical assistance and training sessions as well as small group discussions will be featured.
The conference will be held in Palm Springs, CA at the Palm Springs Marquis Conference Center Resort. Registration forms are available and a conference brochure will be available shortly. NOTE: Please do not make non-refundable travel arrangements until you have registered with the Conference Coordinator and have received a written confirmation.
