Dennis Banks Opens Natural Foods Company
"Wild Rice & Natural Organic Foods"

FEDERAL DAM, MN - Dennis Banks, one of the founders of the American Indian Movement, also known as AIM, and the present National Field Director of AIM, started a business called the Wild Rice & Natural Organic Foods Company. Banks moved back to his home reservation in northern Minnesota and began developing the natural foods company, this past summer. The company is now open for business.

The business will not only help the the area economically but is also indented to be a teaching tool of traditional ways. American Indian youths will have an opportunity to learn how to tap maple trees as well as how to make the syrup.

The Wild Rice & Natural Organic Foods Company will soon be accessible by way of the Internet and will be providing a secure site to enable people to purchase items right online.

Some of the items that are available include food items such as; several flavors of syrup, including maple syrup, sugar cakes, pure honey, several flavors of whipped honey, wild jellies, and wild rice. Ornamental items include canoes, several styles of baskets and tipi style bird houses made from birch bark. Gift packs are also available.

There are Items for every budget. Items run anywhere from $1.00 to $100.00. A birch bark canoe stuffed with goodies, which would make a great holiday gift, runs around $20.00.
