The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus, Department of American Indian Studies, Celebrating of 30 years of Excellence, presents Vine Deloria Jr. as a guest lecturer. The event is to take place on Thursday, October 5, 2000 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 175 Willey Hall, West Bank Campus. The topic of the lecture is "Where is the Indian Community?". The event is being co-sponsored by CLA and Sesquicentennial Events Fund and is free and open to the public.One of today's most important Native American Indian Scholars, Vine Deloria Jr. is a professor of history, law, political science, and religious studies at the University of Colorado-Boulder. Deloria is also a distinguished author, books include: "Red Earth, White Lies"; "Custer Died for Your Sins" and "God is Red" and most recently co-authored "Tribes, Treaties, and Constitutional Tribulations" with David Wilkins, Associate Professor of American Indian Studies at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
Vine Deloria Jr. has also served as Executive Director of the National Congress of American Indians and was a member of the National Office for Rights of the Indigent.
