The American Indian Movement of Florida is pleased to announce that AIM National Board member and Southern California Chapter Director Fern Mathias (Dakota) will speak at 7:00 PM Thursday August 31st, 2000 at the University of South Florida Special Events Center.Fern Mathias is a longtime board member of AIM. She will also be a featured speaker at the 15th Florida AIM Conference September 1-3, 2000.
We encourage everybody who can to attend her speach at USF as well as our state conference. In this way we can encourage USF to conduct more Native programs.
FERN MATHIAS, National AIM Board Member, Director of California AIM, Delegate to the United Nations, will be speaking on the University of South Florida's St. Petersburg campus at 7 pm on August 31, 2000 in the Campus Activities Center (corner of 2nd Street and 6th Avenue South). Ms. Mathias, a longtime activist for the rights of indigenous people, will discuss a variety of topics including the role of women in the indigenous people's movement.
This is an incredible opportunity for all of us to hear from one of Native America's premier women leaders.
