Ashland, Oregon - Native Art~Native Ways in collaboration with The Ashland Country Fair will present an outdoor gathering at Jackson County's Emigrant Lake, (5 miles south of Ashland, Or. rte. 66) on Sept. 15-17, 2000.This Unique event will be an honoring of Voices of Indigenous people, a forum for education and a coming together of artists, craftspeople, musicians, storytellers and healers of ALL nations. There will be vendors, food, fun and activities for children of all ages.
Performers/presenters include; Takilma Elder Agnes Baker Pilgrim, Clan Dyken, a group of muscians who support Navajo (Dine) elders of Big Mountain, Az, Freedom Tribe, Wapato Indian Club Dancers and Ashland's own actor/storyteller Robert Owens. John Trudell has also confirmed. There will be main stage performances on all 3 nights of the event.
Tickets costs: $12/day, $30/weekend pass; advance tickets: $10/day, $25/weekend, available at Indigenous Creations, Plaza Mall, Ashland. Children under 12 FREE. Vendor/booth space is still available through Steve Traisman, phone: 541-482-4241. This is a drug and alcohol free event.
