WEST VIRGINIA - A coalition of local and national groups interested in maintaining the dignity and respect of ancestral burial grounds will meet on the steps of the Monongalia County Courthouse in Morgantown, West Virginia on Thursday, July 6, 2000 at 1:30 p.m.Our intent will be to formally announce our disgust and contempt at Walmart and others for attempting to desecrate sacred burial grounds on State Rt 705 in Monongalia County and to pledge our commitment that no longer will the graves of our ancestors be uprooted and disrespected in the name of corporate profit.
We invite media representatives and all concerned to attend this history making conference and to learn the truth regarding the corporate human rights violations taking place.
Matt Sherman Madage Moniga, of The National Field Office of the American Indian Movement will deliver an address outlining what is being done at the national level to bring an end corporate grave robbing and to detail plans to end the propsed desecration in Monongalia County.
