8 Japanese Businessmen To Visit Leech
Lake Reservation in Northern Minnesota

Battle Point (07-04-00) - A delegation of eight (8) Japanese Businessmen from Tokyo will visit the Battle Point area of the Leech Lake Reservation in Northern Minnesota on August 5-6-7, 2000. The Primary Purpose of the visit will be to explore Business developments with Wild rice & Maple Syrup producers. An advance 3 member team from the Tokyo based Sumida export/import trading company and representing the Japanese businessmen spent three days here on May 19-30-31; in preparation of the August visit.

Dennis Banks, AIM's National Field Director who moved back to his home reservations and now involved in developing a start up Natural foods Company, will host the delegation while they are in Northern Minnesota.

On August 6, a dinner consisting only of Anishinabe foods will be served to them at the Battle Point/Sugar Point community center.
