The U'wa Campaign is in its biggest push to date. In Colombia, thousands of Colombian farmers, indigenous peoples, and other U'wa supporters have converged at Oxy's drillsite to demonstrate their solidarity with the U'wa.Yesterday in the U.S., RAN, Amazon Watch, and Project Underground published a New York Times ad substantiating Gore's connections with Occidental. And last night, some of you may have seen an ABC World News Tonight piece on the Gore/Oxy/U'wa connection. Finally, the Colombian military aid package will be up for a vote in the House this week or next, and will then pass to the Senate. Please contact your representative today and tell them to vote no!
There will be another day of solidarity with the U'wa this Thursday, March 9. It's not too late to get involved. You can demonstrate at Fidelity, make a call to Al Gore's headquarters, send a letter to Oxy, and find all the resources to do so on our website.
