We still do not know where Leonard Peltier is but thanks to your quick response we have found out the following information

1. The Bureau of Prisons will be sending us an official message today which we will forward to you.

2. Prison officials are telling people that Leonard is not on an official transfer, but an "escorted trip". We suspect this means he is being transferred to a medical facility. We know they packed his belongings, so it is more than a simple trip to town for x-rays.

3. A few scant people have been told specific information as to his whereabouts. Some have been told Springfield Medical Facility, others Rochester (Mayo is in Rochester).

4. Leavenworth is either not answering or giving out a "National Locator #" in Washington DC. Our attorneys called this # this morning, to no avail.

CONCLUSION:
Most likely, Leonard is being transferred to a medical facility for examination or treatment. If he is being transferred to the Mayo Clinic, then this is good. If he is being transferred to Springfield, then this is of course very bad.

If he is being transferred to Springfield, the situation is dangerous and we will need to flood Congress, the BOP, and the White House with calls to have him transferred back to Leavenworth. There is a good chance that this will be the case. The message from the BOP will most likely not tell us his whereabouts because he is still in transit, but it should give us some more concrete information.

Please do not stop calling yet because it is the only way to lessen the chance of Leonard being harmed if he is transferred to a dangerous situation.
