The Sequoyah Schools’ cheerleaders will host a youth cheerleading clinic,
October 20-22 from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. for children ages 4 to 12 in the
lower level of The Place Where They Play. Cheer clinic participants
will learn a cheer, chant and dance to perform at half-time of the
Sequoyah football game on October 23.
“This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year,” said Bonnie Griffin, Sequoyah cheerleading coach. “It’s definitely the fundraiser that is the most fun. The squad gets the opportunity to teach to younger kids and the younger kids learn from cheerleaders that they see perform at ballgames. It’s a lot of fun for everyone.” The fee for the clinic is $28 per participant. Participants will receive a t-shirt for attending and will receive free admission to the October 23 football game when wearing their shirt. All proceeds will go directly to the Sequoyah Schools’ cheerleaders. They are raising money to pay their expenses to perform in a bowl game at the University of Hawaii, an honor the squad earned this summer through outstanding performance at summer camp.
