The Cherokee Nation recently contributed $7,500 to the Cherokee Artists
Association.
“In an effort to further the mission of the Cherokee Artists Association,
CAA is helping its members achieve the kinds of exposure that is
financially and technically out of reach of many of our most promising
artists,” said SharonIrla, CAA Executive Officer. “These artists
preserve our tribal culture and deserve to have their works represented
in mainstream media.”
The CAA is expanding their Web site to include an online e-commerce
gallery as well as taking a more aggressive approach to its advertising
and marketing plan through national magazine ad placement in the Western
Art Collector Magazine. The contribution from the Cherokee Nation will
be used to accomplish these goals.
The Cherokee Artists Association is a non-profit organization consisting
of both Cherokee artists and patrons of Cherokee arts. The
organization’s mission is to provide professional and educational art
opportunities for future generations of Cherokee artists.
“Generous contributions from our supporters like Cherokee Nation, not
only help us keep our doors open, but also help fund our continued
mission of promoting our very talented artists and our Native culture,”
said Irla.
