CLAREMORE, OK - The Cherokee Nation will host a Healthy Nation
Camp beginning Monday, June 9 through Friday, June 13, on the
campus of Rogers State University in Claremore.
The camp, which is available through the Cherokee Nation Healthy Nation program, will offer a wide range of fitness activities that promote better health for individuals and communities. Participants will take part in team-building activities, games, cultural activities, health classes, swimming and exercise classes. If available a ROPES course will be offered. The one-week residential camp is open to Native Americans between the ages of 9-12. All applicants must live within the 14-county jurisdictional area of the Cherokee Nation and be willing to participate in all week long activities. Dorm-style sleeping arrangements and all meals will be provided. There is no fee to participate. Registration is limited to the first 40 girl applicants and the first 40 boy applicants.
