PARK HILL, Oklahoma – The Cherokee Heritage Center is offering an
introductory course on Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Award-winning potter Crystal Hanna will serve as the course instructor.
Hanna participates, exhibits and sells her works at several major Indian
art markets throughout the country. She has earned numerous awards in
all venues she has entered.
Designed for adults of all ages, this hands-on Southeastern Pottery class offers an opportunity to learn about the artistic traditions and techniques of hand-built pottery while learning about this time-honored tradition. Students will have the opportunity for close study and informal discussions. The course is part of a series of hands-on cultural classes offered by the Cherokee Heritage Center and sponsored in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council. Additional classes planned for spring 2008 include finger weaving, flint knapping and wood carving. Contact the Cherokee Heritage Center for a complete schedule. Pre-registration is recommended due to limited seating. A fee of $40 includes tuition and materials.
