SALLISAW, OKLAHOMA – The Sallisaw Diamond Daze festival is just
around the corner and Cherokee Nation is busy preparing for the second
annual Diamond Daze Run/Walk.
“In coordination with the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce, the Redbird Smith Health Center wanted to provide a physical fitness activity to give a variety of different things for people to do,” said Mary Owl, public health educator for Cherokee Nation Redbird Smith Health Center. “This is our second year for this event and we hope to encourage people to become more physically active.” The race will be held Saturday, May 5th at Carl Albert State College in Sallisaw. Registration forms may be picked up at Redbird Smith Health Center, Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce, or at the Redbird Smith Public Health Office. Free onsite registration begins at 8 a.m. with the race beginning at 8:30 a.m. For further information, contact Redbird Smith Health Center public health educators Mary A.
