DELAWARE COUNTY, OK - Officials from the Cherokee Nation joined with Delaware County officials in opening a new bridge between Hwy 33 and the Kenwood/Jay road.

The old bridge was narrow and considered unsafe. With the development of a new road leading to the bridge, Cherokee Nation officials knew the bridge needed to be repaired.

Delaware County Commissioner Dave Kendrick called the bridge “a blessing” to the people of the county.

“Without the Cherokee Nation this project would not have happened,” Kendrick said.
