"An artists rendering shows what the new Three Rivers Health Center in Muskogee will look like. The clinic is slated to open in the fall and will employ more than 100 people."
MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The Cherokee Nation will hold a recruitment fair in May to fill dozens of new job openings that will soon be available at the tribe’s new Three Rivers Health Center, scheduled to open this fall in Muskogee. The new health facility will replace Cherokee Nation’s existing Muskogee Health Center, and will expand to include many health care services not currently offered.

“This is another example of the Cherokee Nation continuing to bring jobs to our communities, allowing our people to stay home, raise families and give back to other Cherokees,” said Chad Smith, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. “We will be looking to fill over 100 positions in this facility.”

The recruitment fair will run from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, at the NSU Muskogee Campus, located off of Highway 69 and the Shawnee Bypass. Those interested in applying for a position are encouraged to bring their résumé and submit an application during the event.

Positions will be open in primary care, nursing, dental, behavioral health, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, lab, optometry, information and referral, faculty support and administration.

Architectural design for the new clinic has been carefully selected to incorporate cultural and historical themes relevant to the region and the Cherokee Nation. The columns on the outside of the building represent the columns of the original Cherokee Male Seminary built in the 1850’s in Tahlequah. All of the art and décor located inside the building will reflect the time period during the latter part of the 19th century when the Cherokee Male and Female seminaries were the first institutes of higher learning west of the Mississippi river.
