New Cherokee Nation passenger bus,
presented during the 2006 Cherokee National Holiday parade in
Tahlequah. The bus features artwork of the seven clans
of the Cherokee, as well as the phrase "ga-du-gi", which
means "working together.

TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA – A total of 134 entries were featured in the
Cherokee National Holiday parade, held recently in downtown Tahlequah.
This year the parade’s GaDuGi award went to the Cherokee Nation Health
Group, with Cherokee Nation's Human Services Group taking second place
in the division.
First place float winners were Cherokee Nation Industries, with Cherokee
Nation Enterprises winning second place and Rogers County Cherokee
Association placing third.
The parade’s business/church division award went to Steeley Baptist
Church, second place went to Victory Cherokee Organization and third
place was awarded to the Cherokee County Humane Society.
The Tahlequah Tigers Marching Band received first place in the marching
unit category. The Cherokee Nation Color Guard won second place and the
Talking Leaves Job Corp Color Guard was awarded third place.
First place in the vehicle category was awarded to Mary Kliest, second
place went to Landon Dry and the third place was awarded to James
Disheroon.
The Cherokee Nation congratulates all of the winners of this year’s
