TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA – The Cherokee Nation Child Welfare
Division will host the Two Man Scramble golf tournament on Saturday,
October 28, beginning at 8 a.m. in Fort Gibson at Pecan Valley Golf
Course. The tournament will be held to benefit the foster children
involved with the program.
According to Principal Chief Chad Smith it is important to enhance the life of Cherokee youth. “The future of the Cherokee Nation lies with our children,” said Smith. “In order to preserve our culture, we must protect the rights and promote the welfare of all our young Cherokee citizens.” Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $35. Prizes will be awarded and golf cart rentals are available. All proceeds will go to the Cherokee Nation Angel Tree.
