COLLINSVILLE, OKLAHOMA – The Cherokee Nation Tax Commission
recently opened a tag office, located at 105 E. Main in Collinsville.
The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to Cherokee Nation Tax Administrator Sharon Swepston convenience was the main reason for opening the new office. “The Principal Chief’s initiative is to basically make it more convenient for Cherokee citizen to register their vehicles,” said Swepston. “Hopefully, we’ll cut down on the waiting time at the Tahlequah location, and save people time and money. With gas prices being what they are now, it will be a great savings for everyone.” Currently the Cherokee Nation Tax Commission has offices in Tahlequah, Gore, Adair, and now Collinsville. According to Cherokee Nation Director of Motor Vehicles Karen Walls a lot of new customers will be able to utilize the Collinsville location. “Citizens near the Kansas border and in other northern areas may not have registered their vehicles with us due to time and distance constraints,” said Walls. “We hope this new location in Collinsville will make it easier for these citizens to register their car tags with the Cherokee Nation.” For more information about the Collinsville Tag Office telephone: 918-371-3265. |
