The camp will be held on Saturday, October 7, in the Cherokee Nation Community Room directly behind the Restaurant of the Cherokees and will conclude with lunch being served. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. This year’s camp will allow participants to take part in basket weaving, corn husk doll making, and will include a talking circle. “Our program helps to provide funding to eligible women for yearly breast and cervical cancer screenings,” said Kym Cravatt, director for the Cherokee Nation Cancer Programs. The camp is open to breast cancer survivors and registration will be limited to 50 participants.
