TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA – Cherokee Nation Career Services, in conjunction with Cherokee Nation Enterprises, is seeking qualified candidates for this summer’s CNE Culinary Academy, which is designed to teach novice candidates the fundamentals of basic food handling, food service and food safety. Students will learn these fundamentals from a culinary perspective during the six-to-eight weeks they are in training.“One of our major initiatives is to help people with training so they can earn the good jobs they would like or the entrepreneurial skills to start their own businesses. The ultimate goal of our vision is to improve our quality of life,” said Chad Smith, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation.
Applicants should be citizens or employees of the Cherokee Nation, be 18 years of age or older, and have good work habits and above-average reading and writing skills. Applicants should also possess good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, the ability to stand for extended periods of time and dexterity in fingers, hands, wrists, arms and legs.
