TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA – Cherokee Nation’s Individual Development Account (IDA) program is hosting a home improvement workshop on Thursday, May 25, at 7 p.m. at the Talking Leaves Job Corps office at the Cherokee Nation Tribal Complex south of Tahlequah.The instructor of this workshop is Daryl Martinez of the Home Builders Institute in Washington, D.C., who also teaches facilities maintenance courses for Talking Leaves. Among topics to be covered in this workshop are weatherization/insulation, electrical basics and drywall repair.
IDA participants who are saving toward home improvement are required to attend this workshop, but it is also open to interested members of the public. Seating is limited, however, and those who want to attend should call 918-453-5000 (ext.2536), to reserve a seat.
