TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA – Sequoyah High School announces the top ten graduating seniors for the class of 2006. They are Deena Nez, Todd Crow, Ryan Sierra, Ryan Doyeto, Julie Hensley, Kasper Holmes, Jamie Loy, Tiffany Teehee, Jessica Cornell, and Terry Scott.

Nez, of Tahlequah, is the daughter of Francis and Peggy Nez. She is 2006 Valedictorian. She is a member of the National Honor Society, and the SHS gifted and talented program. She was voted Miss SHS 2006 and is a member of Oklahoma Indian Student Honor Society. She is a member of the youth group at the First Baptist Church of Hulbert.
Crow, of Tahlequah, is the son of Thomas and Mary Crow. He is the 2006 Salutatorian. He is a student council representative, a member of the SHS pep club and past president of his junior class. He was voted Mr. SHS 2006 and has played basketball and been a cheerleader.
Sierra, of Hulbert, is the son of Isidoro and Kathy Sierra. He is the captain of the football team, senior class president, and a member of the Cherokee National Youth Choir.
Doyeto, of Tahlequah, is the son of Shelbi Wofford. He is an all-state runner on both the cross country and track teams, and a three-time state champion cross country runner, a member of gifted and talented, and a member of student council.
Hensley, of Stilwell, is the daughter of Michelle and Donald Hensley. She finished graduation requirements at SHS in December and is currently enrolled at Northeastern State University.
Holmes, of Stilwell, is the son of Penny and Kenneth Holmes. He also completed graduation requirements in December and joined the United States Army in February. After graduating from basic training, he plans to go to airborne school, then to Ft. Bragg in North Carolina where he’ll be in the 82nd Airborne Division. While at SHS, Holmes was a member of the cross-country team.
Loy, of Salina, is the daughter of James and Annie Loy. She is a member of the basketball and cross-country teams and the National Honor Society.
Teehee, of Stilwell, is the daughter of Albert and Marlene Teehee. She is a member of the basketball, volleyball and softball teams.
Cornell, of Tahlequah, is the daughter of Anthony and Michelle Cornell. She is captain of the SHS cheerleading squad, a member of the National Honor Society, and has voluntarily assisted with Sequoyah High School’s children’s cheerleading camp for three years.
Scott, of Stilwell, is the son of Charlie and Terry Scott. He is a member of the basketball team.
The Sequoyah High School class of 2006 graduation ceremony will held May 19th at 6:30 p.m. in the Sequoyah High School multi-purpose student activity center. The Baccalaureate will be held May 17 at 6:30 in the SHS chapel.
