TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA – Looking to repeat as State Champions, the No. 1 ranked Sequoyah High School Lady Indians advanced to the semi-final round of the Class 3A tournament with a win Thursday night over Perkins-Tryon at Southern Nazarene University’s Sawyer Center in Bethany.

Sequoyah (25-2) went on a 10-0 run late in the first quarter and never looked back as they went on to post a 67-43 victory. The Lady Indians put the game away in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Demons 21-11 to take a 39-21 lead into halftime.
Sequoyah will play Marietta at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Sawyer Center. The winner of that game will play in the Championship game on Saturday. Listen to the games in Tahlequah on KTLQ- AM 1350 in the Cherokee language and on 101.7 FM-KEOK in English.
