WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, OKLAHOMA - The adults may be the ones
enjoying Cherokee Casino’s Reindeer Poker Run this Saturday, but kids in
Northwest Arkansas won’t be left out in the cold. Each participant in
the poker run will also come bearing gifts to benefit a toy drive for
Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Arkansas.
Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs has already collected nearly $6,000 worth of toys, a mountain that will continue to grow as participants in the Reindeer Poker Run roll into town December 9th. “We’re so happy we can help kids in Northwest Arkansas, especially this time of year,” said David Stewart, CEO of Cherokee Nation Enterprises, which operates Cherokee Casinos. “We’re loyal to our long-term guests that we’ve had at West Siloam Springs the last fifteen years, and we’re always looking for ways to give back to the community. What better way to do that, than with a toy drive.” Each motorcycle and auto club member is required to bring a new, unwrapped toy worth $10 or more to play a single poker hand. An additional $10 donation is required for each additional poker run hand. Registration takes place at Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs from 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m, the day of the event. The poker run will take place from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. During the poker run, each car, truck and motorcycle entered in the event will stop at five designated locations throughout Northwest Arkansas and draw a playing card. The fifth and final playing card will be drawn at Cherokee Casino West Siloam Springs. Once all poker run participants have arrived and drawn their final card, the winners will be determined by who holds the best hand. The highest poker run hand receives $1,500 and the lowest winning hand will receive $500. For out-of-town Reindeer Poker Run attendees, the Holiday Inn and Best Western West Siloam Springs are offering special rates for registered players. For those wanting to participate in the Reindeer Poker Run, please call 800-760-6700, or visit the Cherokee Casino online for more information. |
