According to Cherokee Nation Medical Director Dr. Gloria Grim, the tribe is pleased to have a full-time pediatrician on staff to treat infants, children and adolescents in the Sallisaw area.
“Dr. Ghan will bring a higher level of care to our children. She will be able to address conditions that in the past had to be sent out for evaluation and treatment by physicians at other facilities,” Grim said.
The Cherokee Nation operates six primary care health facilities and two satellite clinics within the 14-county jurisdictional area that marks the boundaries for the tribe. Parents are urged to get their child well-child check ups beginning at birth through the age of two-years. To make an appointment to see the pediatrician, contact the Redbird Smith Health Center by calling 918-775-9159.
