TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation will host a safety fair and blood drive for Delaware County residents on Tuesday, May 10."There will be lots of fun and learning available, with over 30 different services represented," said Denise Melton, event organizer.
All blood donors will receive a free t-shirt, a free Indian taco and a free drink. They will also be eligible to enter a drawing for a free Harley Sportster to be given away on June 1.
"Our goal is to collect 100 pints of blood," Denise Melton said.
Some of the topics that will be presented and discussed at the safety fair include women’s health, water, electric, environmental, office, personal, home, food, fire, and gun safety, snake and drug identification and 911 services. An Air Evac helicopter will also be on-site and the first 200 children will receive free child identification kits.
The event will be held at the Jay Community Center, located at 429 South 9th Street, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information call Denise Melton, phone: 918-253-2307.
