TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program will begin accepting applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2006 Vendor Contract Agreements on July 15, 2005."WIC is a supplemental food program for pregnant and postpartum breastfeeding women and children under the age of 5," said Tracy Jenkins, office manager for Cherokee Nation WIC Services.
Retail food vendors who would like to apply to be a Cherokee Nation WIC vendor for FY 2006 should contact the Cherokee Nation WIC program at (918) 456-0671, ext. 2588, or by mail at P.O. Box 948, Tahlequah, OK, 74465, before July 15th. The Cherokee Nation will accept applications through July 31st. After that date, those received will not be considered for an agreement.
"Vendors include any stores that wish to take WIC vouchers," Jenkins said. "Each application must include a price sheet reflecting prices valid as of July 15, 2005."
