TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation will host a fun, one-day seminar for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. The seminar will be held in the Tsa-La-Gi Community Meeting Room, behind the Restaurant of the Cherokees, on June 27 from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m."If you are a grandparent and have a child living with you, regardless of whether you have guardianship of the child or not, you and your child should come to this event," said Katina Dugger, family advocate for the Cherokee Nation. "This is a day of fun education for the grandparents and the children they are raising in their homes."
Participants will be able to visit vendor and educational booths, learn cultural crafts, get their faces painted, eat snacks and play games.
