TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation is seeking information on former Little Miss and Mister Cherokee winners, first and second runners-up."I would like to invite them to this year’s Little Miss and Mister Cherokee event," said Joyce Bunch, contest coordinator.
Bunch will also be putting together a display board with pictures and biographical information on the former winners. The board will be displayed at this year’s Little Miss and Mister Cherokee contest, to be held August 2 at 4 and 6 p.m. at the Sequoyah High School gymnasium.

The Little Miss and Mister Cherokee contest is held every year in conjunction with the Cherokee National Holiday. The Cherokee Nation celebrates its National Holiday every year over Labor Day weekend, in observance of the signing of the Cherokee Nation constitution. This year’s Holiday theme, "Celebrating the Great State of Sequoyah," commemorates Indian Territory and the state that almost was.
