TAHLEQUAH, OK - Sequoyah High School (SHS) will host the first round of basketball play-off competition, but will not be playing on their home court. The game against Henryetta High School will be held Friday, February 18 at 6:30 p.m. in Muskogee, at the Muskogee Civic Assembly Center located at 425 Boston."We were planning to use Briggs School gym, but we decided that it just wouldn't hold all of our fans," said Gina Stanley, SHS superintendent.
The SHS boys and girls basketball seasons ended strong with the boys ranked number one. The girls came in at number two, after holding on to number one for several weeks. The next round of regional competition will also be held at the Muskogee Civic Assembly Center; it is set for February 24-26.
Tickets for Friday night's game against Henryetta go on sale at 3 p.m. and gates open at 5:30. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early as seating is limited.
