TULSA, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation announces the formation of Cherokee CRC, LLC, a professional services company with an emphasis in environmental solutions."A unique partnership of this nature allows Cherokee CRC to reach markets that were previously unavailable to the Cherokee Nation," said Cheryl Cohenour, manager of Cherokee CRC. "We hope to capitalize on specific areas of economic growth."
Though Cherokee CRC is a new company, it brings more than 17 years of experience in the industry to the table through the involvement of minority ownership partner Cheryl Cohenour, a Cherokee Nation tribal citizen. Cohenour has spent 17 years as CEO of an environmental services company in Tulsa and working with clients like the Department of Defense, the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration.
"Partnering with Cohenour allows us to provide services to a wide variety of government and corporate entities, and to grow quickly to meet business opportunities as they arise," said Callie Catcher, acting CEO of Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB), the wholly-owned corporation of the Cherokee Nation that owns the majority of Cherokee CRC, LLC.
"This is a great opportunity for the Cherokee Nation to continue to diversify our business holdings," said Chad Smith, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. "The Cherokee Nation has a centuries-old history of being a good steward of the environment so this new venture is a great fit for us as we continue to create jobs and improve the economy in northeastern Oklahoma."
Cherokee CRC, LLC, headquartered in Tulsa, hopes to add many technical and professional jobs within the next 12 months. These jobs will support the anticipated growth of this new partnership.
"Our target customers are government agencies, commercial enterprises, other tribes and their business entities," Cohenour said.
Cherokee CRC offers a comprehensive range of professional engineering and technical assistance, planning, construction management, drilling, environmental, water/wastewater, homeland security, aviation, and laboratory services. Cherokee CRC operates nationally, providing services to local governmental agencies as well as private clients in the chemical, oil and gas, manufacturing, and waste industries.
