TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - Attendants at the Cherokee National Holiday celebration will have the opportunity to compete in the annual blowgun competition at the Cherokee Heritage Center (CHC) on Saturday, September 3.
“We are continuing to grow in all categories and we look forward to this year’s competition and more participants,” said Choogie Kingfisher, blowgun competition coordinator.
The blowgun competition will begin at 12 p.m. with a children’s competition for children ages 13 and younger and continue with individual competitions for both men and women. Winners will receive awards for first, second and third place in each division. Contestants may register the day of the event and should supply their own home-made blowguns made of river cane and darts made of wood.
