TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - Sequoyah High School (SHS) announces the top 10 graduates of the 2004-05 school year.
Bonita Carey has achieved the honor of Valedictorian and Amanda Little has been named Salutatorian. Rounding out the top 10 are Sonny Hawk, Misty Mankiller, Stephen Kinnamon, Christopher Smith, Lana Turner, Rachelle Dellinger, Ashley Thirsty and Haley Larsen.

"This is a very talented class," said Gina Stanley, SHS superintendent. "They have accomplished a lot in the last four years and we are very proud of them. They have served as great role models for younger students and will continue to be leaders in their future endeavors."
Bonita Carey, 17, of Hulbert, is the daughter of Jim and Anita Carey. She is active in National Honor Society, Student Council, Drug Free Youth and athletics. She is concurrently enrolled at Northeastern State University (NSU) and plans to continue her education at NSU and major in science.
Amanda Little, 18, of Tahlequah, is the daughter of Ellis and Nancy Little. She was named an Academic All Star in 2004 and is an Achievement Academy All-American scholar. She is active in Honoring Our People’s Existence (HOPE) club, National Honor Society, and Oklahoma Indian Honor Society. She plans to attend NSU and major in physical therapy.

Sonny Hawk, 18, of Tahlequah, is the son of Diane Alley and Warren Hawk. He is the vice-president of HOPE club, a member of the student council and a volunteer at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Misty Mankiller, 18, of Stilwell, is the daughter of Bill and Annette Mankiller. She is on the yearbook staff, National Honor Society and HOPE club. She hopes to earn a master’s degree in biology from NSU.
Stephen Kinnamon, 18, of Muskogee, is the son of Steve and Dona Kinnamon. He is a member of the SHS Gifted and Talented program, academic team and participates in community service activities.
Christopher Smith, 18, of Tahlequah, is the son of Chadwick and Bobbie Smith. He is a member of the Gifted and Talented program, student council and National Honor Society. He has also received the President’s Leadership Class scholarship to attend NSU where he will major in engineering.
Lana Turner, 18, of Moodys, is the daughter of Mozell and the late Roy J. Turner. She is in National Honor Society, student council, Gifted and Talented, and was named the most outstanding student in the Business Technology class. She plans to go to college and study law and Native American studies.
Rachelle Dellinger, 18, of Tahlequah, is the daughter of Bob and Sheila Henson. She is the manager of the baseball and football teams and was the 2004 football homecoming queen. She plans to attend NSU and become a nurse.
Ashley Thirsty, 18, of Stilwell, is the daughter of Adam and Emma Thirsty. She is in the Spanish club, and the Cherokee choir. She is a cheerleader and on the SHS dance team. She plans to attend college in New Mexico.
Haley Larsen, 18, of Pryor, is the daughter of Glenda Sue Smith. She plays basketball and runs track. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is concurrently enrolled at NSU.
