PARK HILL, OKLAHOMA – Nothing fascinates a child more than magic shows and animals, except maybe magic shows involving animals. On October 15 and 16 at 7 p.m., the Cherokee Heritage Center and the Tahlequah Motor Lodge will present this amazing combination as illusions, magic, tigers and nearly 15 species of endangered animals converge at the 1,800-seat Tsa La Gi Amphitheater. This traveling show was developed by Awakening Production Organization to raise funds to rescue and save the many exotic animals living at the G.W. Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Okla. The park is home to more than 1,200 unwanted exotic animals and more than 89 big cats. Proceeds from this particular show will help pay for the hip replacement and rehabilitation of a sick lion cub.
Created for school aged children, this production focuses on more than endangered animals; it is also a public awareness program designed to teach children to say no to drugs and to abstain from drinking and driving.
Starring in the Tahlequah show are 11-year-old country and western singer Ashley Wheeler and 14-year-old magician J.P. Wilson.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 years old and younger.
