Sequoyah High Announces Fall Honor Roll

TAHLEQUAH, OK – In the fall semester, 161 students from Sequoyah High School made the Superintendent's and Principal's Honor Rolls.

"We're very excited to see such a high number of students achieving this level of success," said Gina Stanley, Sequoyah High School superintendent. "We've got a great bunch this year and they have very bright futures ahead of them. We're proud of all that they are doing."

The students who made the Superintendent's Honor Roll, earning a 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale were Bryan Allen, Jenifer Atwell, Casey Bolin, Alicia Boswell, Kelly Brown, Norma Carey, Raelee Conrad, Hannah Cornell, Todd Crow, Ryan Doyeto, Schon Duncan, Zachary Goodrich, Summer Hamby, Lorin Hammer, Sonny Hawk, Kace Hogner, Kasper Holmes, Amanda Little, Misty Mankiller, Diana Onco, Christine Panther, Mercedes Pigeon, Neal Ponkilla, Kellen Quinton, Laren Richards, Alisa Riddle, Lawrence Scraper, Ryan Sierra, Cassandra Smith, Feather Smith, Raven Springwater, Dena Squyres, Nathan Stanley, Rebecca Steed, Rhiannon Tafoya, Jon Teehee, Tiffany Teehee, and Miranda White.

Sequoyah High School, an Indian boarding school, originated in 1871, when the Cherokee National Council passed an act setting up an orphan asylum to take care
of many orphans that came out of the Civil War.

Sequoyah High School's approximate 300 enrollment represents 42 tribes and 14 different states. Students are eligible to attend if they are members of federally recognized Indian tribes or one-fourth blood
descendants of such members.
