TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation is hosting a fitness day camp for Cherokee fourth-graders this summer.The camp begins May 24 and lasts through May 28. The schedule for the day camp is 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The campers will meet everyday at 8:00 a.m. at the Cherokee Nation Community Room located in back of the Restaurant of the Cherokees. The first three days of activities will be held at Heart O’ Hills Camp located in Welling. The campers will travel there by bus, returning each evening by 5:00 p.m. The remaining two days of camp will be held on the Cherokee Nation tribal complex grounds in Tahlequah.
There is no fee for the camp and lunch and snacks will be provided daily. Campers must be entering the fourth grade.
Early registration for the Cherokee County summer day camp is May 20th at 6:00 p.m. in the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council Chambers, located 3.5 miles south of Tahlequah on U.S. Highway 62 south.
