TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - Sequoyah High School (SHS) announces the top ten graduating seniors for the class of 2004.

They are Nathaniel Barnoskie, Robert Conrad, John Wesley Nofire, Kimberly King, Konrad Holmes, Kryste Benge, Jayme Steeley, Jonathon Pallie, Derrick Stanley, and Angela Nicole Hummingbird.
"All of our students are important to me, but this group is a little extra special since we all arrived together four years ago", said Tony Pivec, SHS superintendent. "It’s been so fun watching these young men and women grow up, excel, and now accomplishing what they came here to do, graduate with honors."
Barnoskie, 18, of Tarboro, NC, is the son of Sally Ann Barnoskie. He is active in National Honor Society, Honoring Our People’s Existence (HOPE), American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), and school newspaper. He was chosen as a semi-finalist for the Outstanding Students of America Scholarship and is Valedictorian of his graduating class. Barnoskie plans to attend the University of Minnesota at Morris where he will major in pre-physical therapy.
Conrad, 17, of Tahlequah, is the son of Toni and Randy Conrad. He is active in National Honor Society, gifted and talented, and is concurrently enrolled in college classes. He is President of AISES and student council and is the editor of the high school yearbook. He is an Outstanding Students of America finalist, Mr. SHS, and is the Salutatorian of his graduating class. Conrad’s future plans are to go to college, get a good job, and be rich.
Robert Conrad ![]()
Nofire, 17, of Welling, is the son of Sherman and Annette Nofire. He is a member of the National Honor Society. He has received awards in history and science. Nofire plans to play college basketball and get a masters degree in law.
King, 18, of Pryor, is the daughter of Vicki and Joe Woodruff and David King. She is active in AISES, HOPE, drumming, and dancing. She plans to go to college and become a surgeon. Robert Conrad
Holmes, 19, of Stillwell, is the son of Penny and Kenneth Holmes. He is active in National Honors Society, AIMS, AISES, student council, and the Sequoyah County Honor Society. He has received the Principal Leadership Award and the Principal Award. He was chosen as Most Courageous Runner, Oklahoma All-Star of Juniors, and Starter All-American. His future plans are to attend college.
Benge, 18, of Muskogee, is the daughter of Sue Harjo and Marcellus Benge. She is a member of gifted and talented, student council, National Honor Society, AISES, Drug Free Youth, and HOPE. She is the senior class president and president of the National Honor Society. She is an Outstanding Students of America Scholarship finalist and on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. Her future plans are to attend college at NSU and major in psychology.
Steeley, 18, of Park Hill, is the daughter of Dori and Jerrod Hammer and Jay Steeley. She is in National Honor Society, student council, gifted and talented, and is captain of the Sequoyah High School dance team. She has been on the Superintendent’s and Principal’s Honor Rolls and was chosen as an Outstanding Student of America. She plans to go to college and become a nurse.
Pallie, 17,of Tahlequah, is the son of Sandra Pallie. He is involved in AISES, Drug Free Youth, HOPE, drumming, Math Club, and National Honor Society. His future plans are to attend the Naval Academy.
Stanley, 18, of Rose, is the son of Eric and Gina Stanley. He is involved in National Honor Society and is the treasurer of student council. He has also received the American History Award. His future plans are to attend Northeastern State University (NSU).
Hummingbird, 18, is the daughter of Becky Hawkins and Johnny Hummingbird Jr. She plays both fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, and basketball. Her future plans are to attend NSU or Haskell and major in education.
"Without question this group of seniors has proven how exceptional they are as leaders, students, and athletes." Pivec said. "In the years to come, we’ll look back at this group and smile on the inside and out."
Graduation ceremonies for the Sequoyah High School class of 2004 are scheduled for May 14, at 6:30 p.m. at Thompson Field. For more information on graduation call SHS, phone: 918-456-0631.
